Course Aim
Learning Outcomes
On course completion delegates will have the knowledge to:
MODULE 1:
Duty of Care
Will give delegates an understanding of:- the legal responsibilities of employers and employees, the role of enforcing authorities, what makes a vulnerable worker, hazard identification and control
MODULE 2:
Power Tools
This session will give an awareness of the risks associated with the use of power tools, an understanding of electrical precautions and PPE required when using power tools
MODULE 3:
Occupational Health
The session provides an awareness of the causes and effects of hand/arm vibration and to understand the possible diseases that may be encountered whilst at work and how they can be avoided
MODULE 4:
Asbestos Awareness
This session will provide a full understanding of all forms of asbestos encountered in the building maintenance
MODULE 5:
Access and Egress
The module will discuss in detail the hazards associated with all form of access and egress including the importance of the risk assessment process, the safe use of ladders and stepladders, the use of scaffolding including erection and dismantling, the use of both scaffold towers and mobile scaffold towers and working on roofs, confined spaces and excavations
The Safety Pass Alliance work with employers, employer associations, Trade Unions, NTOs and other relevant bodies to design and develop training programmes tailored to suit each sector
